General Information

Pick up & Drop off

I ask parents to drop and collect their children as close to the agreed time as possible but I do understand there might be times where you need some flexibility. I don’t mind having children before 8am and after 6pm if this had been arranged beforehand.

What to Bring

For younger children please could you provide an adequate supply of nappies and wipes to last the child’s stay that day. I’m happy to supply nappies if you wish me to but there will be an additional charge for them. I always keep some spares though just in case of those odd emergencies! I also ask you to supply a spare set of clothes, and some suitable footwear i.e. wellies or waterproof shoes plus clothing for outdoor play which should include a coat, hat and scarf in winter or sunhat and sun protection in the summer.

Policies

I have a number of detailed policies and procedures in place which I will give to you before signing any contracts. Please let me know if you would like a copy of these before you decide if I’m the right childminder for you.

Meals & Dietary Requirements

All the meals I provide are home cooked, ensuring the children have a varied, balanced and

nutritious diet. Please see the link above which shows a typical weekly menu so you have a good idea of the food your child will be given. I can also cater for any specific dietary requirements your child may have.

Activities & Learning

I structure each day with the children I’m looking after in mind to ensure each child’s needs are met. The activities I plan are designed to challenge and stretch the child helping their individual learning and development. I provide support and help where needed and give the children lots of praise and encouragement. Included in this pack is also a detailed typical daily routine.

Toys & Equipment

I have a wide range of toys and equipment to suit all age groups. All toys are chosen for their suitability, durability, safety and play value. I regularly purchase new resources and rotate the toys every few weeks which helps to keep the children’s interest. I have outdoor equipment such as sand and water tables, hoops, skipping, mini golf, tents, tunnels, skittles and other large games.
